Fair prices
Rolls-Royce owners pay a fair price at BMR Auto.
Rolls-Royce prices its parts like the car, and owners of a Ghost or a Cullinan know that before they call. What BMR Auto charges for its own work on these cars is fair, and the owner hears plainly what the car needs and what can wait. KJ, who owns BMR Auto, built the shop on respect and honor toward his clients and the cars they leave with him. A Rolls-Royce owner here pays what KJ would charge a friend or someone in his own family, and that is why so many exotic car owners in South Florida have come to trust BMR Auto with cars like these.
Every job starts with a quote for your car. Prices depend on the model and the work, so send us the VIN and tell us what the car is doing. Florida law also requires a repair shop to offer you a written estimate before work begins on all but the smallest jobs, unless you waive it in writing; see your rights under Florida law.
“The absolute most [knowledgeable] BMW and Rolls Royce shop. KJ and his staff are attentive and resolve problems small and large at a very fair rate. I have been using their services for many years on many cars I own.”

Three families of car
The engineering under your Rolls-Royce decides the work.
Since 2003 Rolls-Royce has built its cars on three different sets of engineering. Knowing which one your car sits on tells you what an independent shop can do on it, and what still belongs at the dealer.
Phantom VII
Phantom Saloon 2003 to 2017, Drophead Coupé 2007 to 2016, Coupé 2008 to 2016
A 6.75-liter V12 that BMW developed by enlarging the 6.0-liter V12 of the E65 7 Series. A ZF six-speed automatic, then a ZF eight-speed from the Series II cars of the 2013 model year. The body is an aluminum spaceframe built at Goodwood. Phantom VII work
Ghost I, Wraith and Dawn
Ghost on sale from September 2009, Series II from 2014; Wraith coupé; Dawn convertible
The Ghost shares its platform with the F01 BMW 7 Series, with about 20 percent of parts in common. It has a 6.6-liter twin-turbo V12 from the BMW N74 family, a ZF eight-speed automatic and air springs. The Wraith and Dawn are built on the same platform. This is the family closest to our BMW work. Ghost, Wraith and Dawn work
Phantom VIII, Cullinan, Ghost II and Spectre
Phantom VIII from 2017, Cullinan in NHTSA records from the 2019 model year, Ghost II revealed September 2020, Spectre from the 2024 model year
Built on Rolls-Royce's own aluminum spaceframe, the Architecture of Luxury, which is no longer BMW-based. The Ghost II has a 6.75-liter V12, all-wheel drive, all-wheel steering and Planar suspension. The Spectre is fully electric. Work on the newest cars
The overlap with BMW shows in the recall records. The Ghost shared an electric auxiliary water pump recall with 2011 and 2012 BMW 550i, 750i, X5 and X6 models, and the 2017 Dawn shared seat side-airbag recalls with the BMW 4 Series. See BMW service and repair.
Phantom VII
Phantom VII Saloon, Drophead Coupé and Coupé.
Call us first with a Phantom VII and tell us the year and what the car is doing. The Phantom VII predates the BMW-based Ghost, so we talk through the job with you on the phone before you bring the car in.
Scheduled maintenance
Engine oil service, fluids and an inspection of the 6.75-liter V12 and its air suspension. Tell us the mileage and the last service, and we tell you what is due.
Diagnostics
A 2014 scan-tool review found that BMW's dealer diagnostic software covers Rolls-Royce from 2002 onward, which takes in every Phantom VII. Every Phantom VII fault should start with a full scan of the modules.
Air suspension
The usual sign is a car sitting low or uneven after parking overnight, with a suspension warning. The causes are the same as on the Ghost, Wraith and Dawn: an air strut, the compressor or a ride-height sensor.
Engine, oil leaks and cooling
Valve cover gaskets and seals leak with age, ignition coils fail and set misfire codes, and the radiator, hoses, water pump and thermostat wear out on a car of this age.
Transmission
Series I cars use a ZF six-speed automatic, and Series II cars, from the 2013 model year, a ZF eight-speed. Late or harsh shifts call for a fluid check and a scan of the gearbox control module.
Keys
Call us first with the VIN and tell us how many working keys you have. We tell you on the call whether we can make the key or whether it has to come from the dealer.
Phantom VII facts
- Saloon 2003 to 2017, Drophead Coupé 2007 to 2016, Coupé 2008 to 2016
- 6.75-liter naturally aspirated V12, developed by BMW from the E65 7 Series 6.0-liter V12
- ZF six-speed automatic; ZF eight-speed from Series II (2013 model year)
- Aluminum spaceframe, built at Goodwood

Ghost I, Wraith and Dawn
The BMW-based Ghost, Wraith and Dawn.
These are the Rolls-Royce cars closest to the BMW work we do every day. Many are now past their factory warranty and free dealer maintenance, so the owner chooses where they are serviced. We work on all three in our Dania Beach shop.

Scheduled maintenance
We do the engine oil service on these cars, with oil, filter and the service reminder reset. Tell us the mileage and we tell you what else is due, from brake fluid to filters.
Air suspension
The usual sign is a car that sits low or uneven after parking overnight, with a suspension warning. The cause is usually a leaking air strut, a tired compressor or a failing ride-height sensor, and compressor failures are reported on Ghost I cars more than ten years old. We find which part has failed before anything is replaced.
Engine, oil leaks and cooling
Oil leaks from valve cover gaskets, seals and filter housings, and cooling faults in the radiator, hoses, water pump and thermostat. Ignition coils fail and set misfire codes in the P0300 series. Ghost owners should check recall 18V248000 for the electric auxiliary water pump, which carries a fire risk.
Brakes
These are heavy cars, and city driving wears the brakes on the Ghost and Wraith quickly. We do complete brake service on all three cars, from pads and rotors to the brake fluid.
Battery, electrical and modules
The Ghost and Wraith can drain the battery when parked for a while, and a battery tender helps while the car is stored. A new battery usually needs to be registered to the car, and we register and code it when we fit it.
Diagnostics
We read every module with dealer-level diagnostic software and find the cause before parts are replaced. On these cars that is the same electronic architecture as the BMW 7 Series of the same years.
Programming and coding
Many factory fixes for these cars arrive as software; a 2020 Rolls-Royce bulletin for the Wraith and Dawn was a programming repair notice. Programming and coding the BMW-based modules is part of our daily BMW work.
Keys
On 2009 to 2018 cars we program an added key when you have one working key, and we make keys when every key is lost. For 2019 and later cars, call us with the VIN first.
Transmission
The ZF eight-speed automatic. Jerky or late shifts on the Ghost and Wraith usually come from old fluid, a solenoid or the gearbox control software, and the fix is often a fluid service and an update of the gearbox control module.
Headlights, air conditioning, wheels and tires, collision repair, inspections and parts: see jobs on every model.
Phantom VIII, Cullinan, Ghost II and Spectre
The newest cars, on the Architecture of Luxury.
Many of these cars are still inside the factory warranty, with basic maintenance included at a Rolls-Royce dealer. Use that while it lasts. Once it ends, call us with the VIN and we tell you what we can do on your car.
Scheduled maintenance
Once the included dealer maintenance ends, where the car is serviced is the owner's choice. The Cullinan at the top of this page was photographed in our shop.
Air suspension
On the Cullinan, an air suspension fault shows the same way as on the older cars, as a car sitting low after parking. The Ghost II uses Rolls-Royce's Planar suspension.
Brakes
The Cullinan's weight wears pads and rotors quickly in city driving. Tell us what you hear and which warning is on, and we quote the axle that needs it.
Diagnostics and electrical faults
We diagnose these cars with dealer-level diagnostic software and read the fault memory of every module before we recommend a repair.
Programming and software
Several Rolls-Royce recalls, among them ones for the Cullinan brake lights, camera settings and a Phantom display, were fixed with software updates at the dealer. Recall software stays with the dealer, where it is free.
Keys
Call us first. Rolls-Royce is not on NASTF's list of makers that release key codes to independent shops, and one tool maker's procedure for adding a key to a BMW BDC2 body module requires a working key.
Spectre
The Spectre is fully electric. One Spectre recall, 24V039000, concerned adhesive residue on the front motor ground cable, with a risk of electric shock during service. Call us first with a Spectre.

Headlights, air conditioning, wheels and tires, collision repair, inspections and parts: see jobs on every model.
Jobs on every model
Bodywork, inspections, parts and the rest.
These jobs come up on every Rolls-Royce family. Send us the VIN and the job, and we tell you what we can do and quote it.
Pre-purchase inspection
We inspect the car and send you detailed photos, so you can decide even when you cannot see the car yourself. On a Rolls-Royce we read the fault memory in every module, check the air suspension, look for leaks and check the VIN for open recalls.
Collision and body
Collision repair and insurance claims on Rolls-Royce cars, with a scan of the electronics after the repair.
Headlights
A headlight that fails, fogs or shows a lighting warning on a Rolls-Royce starts with a diagnosis, because the fault can sit in a control module or the wiring as well as in the lamp.
Air conditioning
We diagnose and repair air conditioning on Rolls-Royce cars, and we find the leak or the failed part before the system is recharged.
Wheels and tires
Heavy cars on large wheels wear their tires unevenly when the alignment or the air suspension is off, so we check both.
Parts
We source the parts for every Rolls-Royce job we quote and tell you what each part is before it goes on the car.
Recalls
Recall repairs are free at a Rolls-Royce dealer.
If your car has an open recall, a Rolls-Royce dealer repairs it at no charge. Send us your VIN and we check it for open recalls. These are recalls worth checking by VIN.
| Recall | Cars | What it is | What to do |
|---|---|---|---|
| 26V143000 (March 2026) | 2020 to 2026 Cullinan | Rear seat bolts | Do not use the rear seats or the luggage area until the dealer has repaired it. |
| 23V645000 | 2021 to 2023 Ghost | Instrument cluster glass | Have the dealer repair it. |
| 18V248000 | Ghost, shared with 2011 and 2012 BMW 550i, 750i, X5 and X6 | Electric auxiliary water pump, with a risk of fire | Park outdoors until the dealer has repaired it. |
| 24V039000 | Spectre | Adhesive residue on the front motor ground cable, with a risk of electric shock during service | Have the dealer repair it. |
| 24V104000 | 2023 to 2025 BMW, MINI and Rolls-Royce vehicles | The integrated brake system may malfunction | Check your VIN. |
The numbers are NHTSA recall campaign numbers. Other Rolls-Royce recalls, among them ones for the Cullinan brake lights, camera settings and a Phantom display, were fixed with software updates at the dealer.
What goes to the dealer
When the dealer is the right place for your Rolls-Royce.
When a job belongs at the dealer, we say so on the first call, so you do not pay us to find out.
- Recall repairs, which a Rolls-Royce dealer does free.
- Repairs covered by the factory warranty. New Rolls-Royce cars carry a four-year, unlimited-mileage warranty, with four years of roadside assistance and a service contract for basic maintenance at an authorized center. Rolls-Royce Service Inclusive can extend all three by 2, 3 or 5 years.
- Cars under the Provenance certified pre-owned program, which adds 12 or 24 months of cover with no age or mileage limit, no deductible and complimentary maintenance.
- Keys for the newest cars, when Rolls-Royce is the only source of a key for your VIN.
In general, servicing at an independent shop does not void your warranty. The FTC says a maker cannot void a warranty or deny coverage only because you used another company's parts or an independent shop, unless it provides that part or service free under the warranty, and it can deny a claim for damage the outside part or work caused. Rolls-Royce includes basic maintenance on new and Provenance cars, so use it while it lasts.
Seasonal owners and hurricane season
If the car stays in South Florida while you are away.
A Rolls-Royce parked for months can drain its battery, and the Ghost and Wraith are known for it. A little planning before you leave saves a flat battery and a list of warnings when you come back.
Before you leave
Have any service that is due done before the car is put away, and keep it on a battery tender while it stands. See maintenance.
While you are away
BMR Auto also stores cars at its shop in Dania Beach; see car storage.
When you come back
If the car shows warnings after a long stand, a low battery is the first thing to check. Call us before you clear anything.
Hurricane season
If flood water has reached the car, do not try to start it. Call us first, because starting a wet engine or wet electronics can turn a repair into a much larger one.
What owners say about BMR Auto
The Google review that names Rolls-Royce is quoted in fair prices above. The reviews below describe our work on BMW, Bentley and other European and exotic cars.
“KJ and his team are experts at what they do. Working on Exotics and European cars. They are my go to for diagnostic, maintenance and repair on all of BMW’s. Thank you !”

“I can’t recommend David highly enough. As a specialist in European and exotic vehicles, David’s expertise is truly exceptional. From the moment I brought in my BMW, it was clear that I was in the hands of someone with extensive experience and a deep understanding of high-end cars. The work he performed was meticulous, precise, and of the highest quality. & I am extremely picky with my stuff! Beyond his technical skill, he conducts himself with remarkable professionalism! Super clear communication, transparency about the work required, and genuine care for the vehicle. It’s super rare to find a mechanic who combines this level of expertise with such integrity and professionalism. My BMW runs flawlessly now, and I have complete confidence in his work for any European or exotic car. If you want your car handled with true mastery and attention to detail, David is the mechanic to trust. I don’t bring my cars any where else.”

Questions from Rolls-Royce owners
How much does Rolls-Royce service cost at BMR Auto?
It depends on the model and the work, so we quote each car. Send us the VIN and tell us what the car needs, and you have the price before any work begins. A longtime customer who calls us "the absolute most [knowledgeable] BMW and Rolls Royce shop" wrote on Google that we resolve problems "small and large at a very fair rate."
Will servicing my Rolls-Royce at an independent shop void the warranty?
Usually not. Under federal law a maker cannot void your warranty or deny coverage only because the car was serviced at an independent shop or fitted with another company's parts, unless it provides that part or service free under the warranty. It can deny a claim for damage the outside work caused. If your car still has free dealer maintenance, use it. Keep the written invoice we give you for every job.
Can a BMW specialist work on a Rolls-Royce?
Yes. The first-generation Ghost, the Wraith and the Dawn share their platform with the F01 BMW 7 Series and run on BMW electronics, which is the work we know best. The Phantom VIII, Cullinan, Ghost II and Spectre are built on Rolls-Royce's own Architecture of Luxury, so call us first with one of those.
My Ghost sits low in the morning. What is wrong?
Usually a fault in the air suspension, most often a leaking air strut or a worn compressor. We find which part has failed before any part is replaced, and we quote the repair once we know. More in the Ghost, Wraith and Dawn section.
Can you make a key for my Ghost, Wraith or Dawn?
Yes, on 2009 to 2018 cars. With one working key we program an added key, and with every key lost we make keys with the car at our shop. Call BMR Auto with the VIN for a quote on your car. See Rolls-Royce keys.
Can you make a key for a Cullinan or Phantom?
Call us first with the VIN and tell us how many working keys you have. If only the dealer can make the key, we tell you before you pay anything.
How do I know if my car has an open recall?
Send us your VIN and we check it. Recall repairs are free at a Rolls-Royce dealer. Cullinan owners should check recall 26V143000 for the rear seat bolts; until it is repaired, do not use the rear seats or the luggage area.
Can you inspect a Rolls-Royce before I buy it?
Yes. We inspect the car and send you detailed photos, so you can decide even when you cannot see the car yourself. Send us the VIN and where the car is for sale, and we quote the inspection.
I leave Florida for the summer. What should I do with the car?
Have any service that is due done before you leave, and keep the car on a battery tender, because a Ghost or Wraith left standing for months can drain its battery. BMR Auto also stores cars at its Dania Beach shop; see car storage.
Is BMR Auto a Rolls-Royce dealer?
No. BMR Auto is an independent repair shop and is not affiliated with or authorized by Rolls-Royce Motor Cars Limited, BMW AG or any vehicle manufacturer.
Send us the VIN and tell us what the car is doing.
