Scheduled maintenance for BMW, luxury and exotic cars in South Florida.

BMR Auto, in Dania Beach, does the oil services, brake fluid, spark plugs, filters and other items your car’s own schedule calls for, and resets the service display when the work is done. Having maintenance done at an independent shop does not by itself void your factory warranty, and this page explains why in plain words.

  • BMW’s own schedule uses Condition Based Service, which sets each interval from sensors, time, distance and how the car is driven.
  • BMR Auto is rated 5.0 on Google from 151 reviews, as of October 30, 2026.

Your warranty

Your factory warranty and an independent shop.

Owners ask this before anything else. Here is what federal law and the makers themselves say.

What the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act means for you

The Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act is the federal law on consumer warranties. Under it, a maker may not make your warranty depend on your using a part or service identified by brand name unless it provides that part or service free under the warranty. The FTC can waive this rule if the maker shows the product will work properly only with that part or service.

  • “You don’t have to use the dealer for repairs or maintenance to keep your warranty in effect,” says the Federal Trade Commission.
  • Your warranty stays in effect if you use aftermarket or recycled parts, the FTC says, and the maker must prove that such a part caused the damage before it denies coverage.
  • The maker could ask for your maintenance records, so keep every invoice and receipt.
  • In 2022 the FTC settled with Harley-Davidson and the makers of Westinghouse generators and Weber grills, which it said had told customers their warranties were void if they bought parts or repairs elsewhere, KSL reported.

Where the law stops

  • A maker can still deny a claim when the outside work or part caused the failure.
  • Damage from missed maintenance is not covered. BMW says so in its own maintenance booklet.
  • Free warranty repairs are done at the dealer. When a warranty says the work will be done free, the FTC says the maker can make you use the repair facilities it chooses. BMR Auto is an independent shop and does not do factory warranty repairs.
  • A maker that provides scheduled service free under the warranty may require you to have that service done at its dealers. BMW’s booklet does not: it says owners are free to use other service facilities.
  • Recalls are also repaired free at the dealer.

Prepaid dealer programs

A prepaid or included maintenance program is separate from the warranty, and it pays only for work done at the dealer. BMW’s booklet says owners are free to use other service facilities, but that work is not reimbursed under BMW Ultimate Care. For other makes, check the program terms for any condition on where the service is done.

  • BMW Ultimate Care runs 36 months or 36,000 miles on a new 2026 BMW. It covers the oil service, brake fluid, Vehicle Check and the M running-in service, and the cabin filter, key battery, engine air filter, spark plugs and M differential oil when they fall due with an oil service. It excludes brake pads and discs (carbon ceramic included), wiper blades and the drive belt.
  • The Porsche Scheduled Maintenance Plan is performed only at authorized Porsche Centers, and each service must be done within 3 months or 6,000 miles of its due point, Porsche USA says.
  • Ferrari Genuine Maintenance covers scheduled service for 7 years from delivery, every 12,500 miles or once a year with no mileage limit, through the authorized network, and it transfers with the car, according to Ferrari of Fort Lauderdale.

Our advice

While your car is inside one of these programs, take the free items to the dealer. Bring us what the program leaves out, such as brake pads, rotors and wiper blades, and everything after the program ends.

Keep every invoice. The BMR Auto invoice lists the parts, fluids and mileage for each service, which is the record a maker asks to see.

Schedules

How each maker schedules service.

Each maker uses its own system. The table gives each one as its source publishes it, and names the source. Your owner’s manual and the car’s own display decide.

BMW and Mini

BMW and Mini maintenance.

BMW does not publish one fixed interval. The Condition Based Service display tells you when the oil, brake fluid, spark plugs, filters and Vehicle Check are due. BMR Auto reads the display, does the work that is due and resets it. The figures below are from BMW USA’s 2026 maintenance booklet.

How Condition Based Service works

CBS uses sensors and algorithms, together with elapsed time, distance and the way the car is driven, to forecast each service, and it adjusts the interval over time. BMW electric models use a basic 24-month interval with no mileage influence.

Oil service

BMW fills its 2026 engines with “BMW-approved fully synthetic oil” and refers owners to the owner’s manual for the specification. The 2026 schedule puts the second oil service at about 20,000 miles, which works out to about 10,000 miles per service. An older rule of thumb of 5,000 miles is not in BMW’s current schedule, and BMR Auto uses oil that carries the approval your owner’s manual names.

N63 V8 cars: the Customer Care Package

On the N63 V8 in the 550i, 750i and the X5 and X6 50i, BMW’s Customer Care Package shortened the oil service to 12 months or 10,000 miles, Autoevolution reported. Engine work on the N63 is on the engine and transmission page.

Brake fluid

BMW sets brake fluid by time. The CBS display shows a due date, for example 03/2028, instead of a mileage, and BMW’s booklet gives no fixed number of years. Brake fluid draws in moisture as it ages, which is why the date matters more than the miles. Brake repairs are on the brakes and suspension page.

Spark plugs

About every 30,000 or 60,000 miles, depending on the model. BMR Auto replaces the plugs and checks the ignition coils while it is in there.

Cabin filter

BMW changes the cabin microfilter at every second oil service, about 20,000 miles, together with the oil.

Engine air filter

About every 30,000 or 40,000 miles, depending on the model, and more often in dusty conditions, BMW says.

Coolant

BMW treats coolant as a long-term fluid, replaced only during repairs, which means no scheduled change in BMW’s plan. Owners should still have the level and concentration checked. Cooling system repairs are on the engine and transmission page.

Differential and transfer case fluid

Automatic and manual transmission fluid and xDrive transfer case fluid are long-term fluids in BMW’s plan, with stated exceptions. The rear differential fluid is changed at about 50,000 miles on some models. On the 2 Series Gran Coupe and the X1 and X2, the transmission fluid is replaced at about 60,000 to 78,000 miles, when the cluster shows it.

M cars: the running-in service

BMW M models need a running-in oil and differential service at 1,200 miles.

Vehicle Check

A CBS item with a set list of checks, including the lights, horn, seat belts, wipers and washers, tires, 12-volt battery and coolant.

Mini

Mini uses BMW’s electronics and the same Condition Based Service display, so the display on your Mini tells you what is due, and BMR Auto reads and resets it the same way. See the Mini page for the electrical and module work Mini owners bring us.

ZF 8-speed fluid

What a “lifetime” transmission fill means.

Many BMWs use the ZF 8-speed automatic, the 8HP. BMW calls its fluid a lifetime fill, which means there is no scheduled change in BMW’s plan.

The fluid works as hydraulic fluid, coolant and friction modifier at once. Kies Motorsports, a parts retailer summarizing ZF’s guidance, puts the service at roughly every 8 years, sooner under heat and load, with published figures from about 50,000 to about 93,000 miles. FCP Euro’s Gareth Foley told BimmerLife that, from FCP Euro’s talks with ZF engineers, “100,000 miles is BMW’s definition of a ‘lifetime fill’.” These are specialists’ figures, since ZF’s own document was not available to us.

BMR Auto changes transmission fluid. Tell us the model, the mileage and whether the fluid has ever been changed, and we will quote the service on your car.

Shifting faults

A harsh shift, a slip or a transmission warning is a repair question. See engine and transmission and diagnostics.

Rolls-Royce

Rolls-Royce maintenance.

The first-generation Ghost, the Wraith and the Dawn run on BMW electronics, which is the work BMR Auto knows best. A Rolls-Royce engine oil service at BMR Auto includes the oil, the filter and the service reminder reset.

Rolls-Royce maintenance at a dealer carries a price to match the badge. BMR Auto quotes the same service on your car with the oil and parts the car calls for, and you have that figure before any work begins. Call or send the VIN for a quote on your Ghost, Wraith, Dawn or Cullinan.

Mercedes-Benz and AMG

Mercedes-Benz and AMG maintenance.

Mercedes-Benz alternates two services. These are the contents as Mercedes-Benz of Orlando, a dealer, describes them. Tell us the model and year, and BMR Auto will tell you which service is due and quote it.

Service A, every 10,000 miles or 1 year

Synthetic oil and filter, fluid checks, tire pressure setting and TPMS reset, a brake inspection and the maintenance counter reset.

Service B, every 20,000 miles or 2 years

Everything in Service A, plus the cabin filter and a brake fluid exchange.

AMG engine repairs are on the engine and transmission page, and the 48-volt system on hybrid and EV batteries. More on the Mercedes-Benz page.

Porsche

Porsche maintenance.

For the 911, Porsche Stevens Creek, a Porsche dealer, gives these intervals without naming the generation.

ItemInterval
Engine oilEvery 10,000 miles or 1 year
Brake fluidEvery 20,000 miles or 2 years
Spark plugsEvery 30,000 miles or 3 years
Cabin filterEvery 20,000 miles or 2 years
Engine air filterEvery 40,000 miles or 4 years

Other Porsche models have their own figures in the owner’s manual. Send us the model and year for a quote.

Porsche Scheduled Maintenance Plan

This prepaid plan is performed only at authorized Porsche Centers with genuine parts, and only in the country where the car was bought. Its due dates run from the warranty start date. Wear items such as pads, rotors and tires are excluded, Porsche USA says.

If your Porsche has the plan, use it at the dealer. Bring the excluded items, such as pads and rotors, to us.

Exotic cars

Ferrari, McLaren, Bentley, Lamborghini and Maserati maintenance.

Ferrari’s own program offers a yearly service with no mileage restriction. The guidance we found for the other makes also points to a yearly service, however few miles the car has done, but it does not come from the makers, so we print no interval we cannot source. Your owner’s manual decides.

Ferrari

Ferrari Genuine Maintenance covers scheduled service through the authorized network for the first 7 years, every 12,500 miles or once a year with no mileage limit. An Ontario Ferrari specialist reports that Ferrari specifies a yearly service on the 458 regardless of mileage, with major intervals at 20,000 and 60,000 km and a “cam-end timing service” at higher mileage. After the program ends, BMR Auto can take over the yearly service; call with the model and year.

McLaren

BMR Auto services McLarens once a year or every 10,000 miles, with oil and filters to McLaren’s specification and an inspection. An Ontario McLaren specialist calls the fuel filter and charcoal canister due at the 6th and 12th services “the single most-skipped item” on the 12C and 650S, and puts the hydraulic accumulator at about seven years from new.

Bentley

A Bentley oil service at BMR Auto drains and refills the engine with synthetic oil, fits a new filter and resets the service indicator. The car also gets a diagnostic scan and checks of the fluids, brakes, electrical system and tires, and the gaskets are inspected for leaks. The price depends on the engine, so call with the model and year for a quote.

Lamborghini and Maserati

Tell us the model, the year and the last service date. BMR Auto will tell you what is due on your car and quote it before you book.

Make pages: Ferrari, Lamborghini, McLaren, Bentley, Maserati, and other exotic cars.

Wear items

Wipers, filters and other wear items.

Some of these small jobs fall outside prepaid dealer programs. BMW Ultimate Care, for one, excludes wiper blades and the drive belt.

Wiper blades

BMR Auto fits new blades and checks the washers in about 15 to 30 minutes. South Florida sun hardens the rubber, so blades that streak after a summer are due.

All filters

Cabin, engine air and, where fitted, fuel and transmission filters. A full filter change takes about 1 to 1.5 hours. BMW intervals for the cabin filter and engine air filter are above.

Fuel filter

Whether a separate fuel filter needs changing depends on the car. On the McLaren 12C and 650S it is a scheduled item that an Ontario McLaren specialist calls the most skipped; see McLaren. Fuel pumps are on the engine and transmission page.

Key battery

BMW Ultimate Care replaces the key battery when it falls due with an oil service. Outside the program, ask us to change it while the car is in. For new or lost keys, see keys.

Drive belt

BMW Ultimate Care leaves the drive belt out. A belt that squeals or shows cracks across the ribs is due for replacement. Ask us to look at it during an oil service.

Fluid changes

Brake fluid, coolant, transmission and differential fluid are covered make by make above: brake fluid, coolant, transmission fluid, differential fluid. Air conditioning service is on its own page.

South Florida

Short trips, idling and storage.

BMW’s booklet says short city trips, cold starts, idling, stop-and-go traffic and high-rpm acceleration may need more frequent maintenance. Much driving in Miami, Fort Lauderdale and Palm Beach traffic fits that description. BMW’s booklet gives no guidance for hot climates, and we found no maker that classes South Florida heat as severe service.

When you book, tell us how the car is driven: daily in traffic, on weekends only, or parked for the summer. That changes what we look at, and we will tell you plainly if we think a service can wait.

Cars that sit

A low-mileage car still runs on the calendar. Ferrari Genuine Maintenance offers a yearly service with no mileage restriction, and tires age by the year too; see tire age.

Quotes

How BMR Auto prices maintenance.

Owning a BMW M car, a Rolls-Royce or a McLaren should not mean paying a premium every time the oil is due. BMR Auto prices each service the way we would price it for a friend’s car, with the fluids and parts the maker calls for and nothing the car does not need. Owners who saw that kept coming back and sent their friends, and that is how the shop has grown.

ServiceWhat it includes
BMW and Mini oil serviceOil to the approval in the owner’s manual, a new filter and the service display reset
Rolls-Royce engine oil serviceOil, filter and the service reminder reset
Bentley oil serviceSynthetic oil, filter, indicator reset, a diagnostic scan and checks of the fluids, brakes, electrical system, tires and gaskets
McLaren yearly serviceOil and filters to McLaren’s specification, and an inspection
Brake fluid exchangeOld fluid flushed out and replaced with the fluid the maker specifies
Spark plugsNew plugs, with the ignition coils checked
Cabin and engine air filtersNew filters to the maker’s part
Transmission fluid changeFluid to the maker’s specification; on the ZF 8-speed, the pan and filter as the job requires
Wiper bladesNew blades, fitted, with the washers checked

Prices depend on the car, the engine and the work. Call or send the VIN with the mileage, and we will quote your car before you book. Florida law requires the shop to prepare a written estimate before any diagnostic work or repair on all but the smallest jobs, unless you waive it in writing; see your rights under Florida law.

What owners say about BMR Auto

One Google review names maintenance, as part of a BMW owner’s regular work at the shop. The others speak about the shop in general.

“I contacted BMR after finding their information on Facebook while desperately searching for BMW specialists. After speaking to several different shops on the phone, I could tell they were knowledgeable, pleasant and honest. They gave me clear costs and expectations up front. They fixed my son[’s] car the same day with no surprises of extra fees or add-ons. I even received photos of my car when they worked [on] it.”

Questions from owners

Will servicing my car at BMR Auto void my factory warranty?

No. The FTC says you do not have to use the dealer for maintenance or repairs to keep your warranty in effect, and federal law bars a maker from tying the warranty to its own parts or service unless they are free. Keep your records. The BMR Auto invoice lists the parts, fluids and mileage for each service. See your warranty and the dealer.

Can the maker still turn down a warranty claim?

Yes, when it shows that outside work or a part caused the failure, or that the damage came from missed maintenance. Warranty repairs themselves are done free at the dealer, and BMR Auto, as an independent shop, does not do them.

My BMW has Ultimate Care. Should I still come to you?

Use Ultimate Care at the dealer for what it covers. Bring us what it leaves out, such as brake pads and discs and wiper blades, and everything after it ends at 36 months or 36,000 miles.

How often does my BMW need an oil change?

The car’s Condition Based Service display decides. On 2026 models the schedule works out to about every 10,000 miles. N63 V8 cars covered by BMW’s Customer Care Package moved to 12 months or 10,000 miles, according to a news report of the package. If your car spends its life in short trips and traffic, tell us, because BMW’s booklet says that kind of driving may need more frequent service.

Does lifetime transmission fluid mean I never change it?

It means BMW schedules no change. Specialists who cite ZF guidance recommend a fluid service roughly every 8 years, sooner under heat and load. BMR Auto changes transmission fluid; send the model and mileage for a quote. See ZF 8-speed fluid.

How do I get a price for my car’s service?

Call (954) 947-0057 or send the year, model, VIN and mileage through the quote form. Prices depend on the car and the engine, and BMR Auto gives you the figure before any work begins.

My Ferrari barely moves. Does it still need a yearly service?

Ferrari Genuine Maintenance offers service once a year with no mileage restriction, as one of its two options, according to Ferrari of Fort Lauderdale. Fluids and rubber age with time whether the car is driven or not, so a car that sits still needs its yearly visit.

Can you reset my service light?

Yes. BMR Auto resets the service display after the work is done, so the car counts down to the next service correctly.

When should the spark plugs be changed on my BMW?

BMW lists about 30,000 or 60,000 miles, depending on the model. CBS shows when they are due, and BMR Auto checks the ignition coils when it changes the plugs.

Does South Florida heat count as severe service?

No maker we found says so. BMW’s booklet does count short trips, idling and stop-and-go driving as reasons for more frequent maintenance, and much local driving fits that.

Tell us the car, the mileage and what the service display shows.
