Fair prices
A fair price on a Bentley, and the care we would give family.
A W12 Continental or a Flying Spur is a costly car to look after, and a single air spring or radiator on one of them is a serious bill. Bentley owners at BMR Auto pay a fair price for that work. KJ, who owns BMR Auto, looks after every Bentley the way he would want his own family's car looked after, and he bills its owner as he would bill a friend. That way of working, with respect for the client and the car and honor in the price, is what has made the shop grow. Exotic car owners all over South Florida trust BMR Auto because of it, and Bentley owners are among them.
You get the price before the work starts. Send the VIN and tell us what the car is doing, and we quote it. If a job is better done at the Bentley dealer, we tell you that on the first call.
“Best mechanic to date for high end cars - the only one we trust with our Bentley Continental and our Range Rover.”

Models and engines
The Bentley range splits by engine.
Most Bentleys on the road today have the 6.0-liter W12, the 4.0-liter V8 or, on the newest cars, a plug-in hybrid. Tell us the model and the engine, and we tell you what the work involves on your car.
Continental GT, first generation
2003 to 2011, with the GTC convertible from 2005 and the four-door Continental Flying Spur
A 6.0-liter twin-turbo W12 with a ZF six-speed automatic. The GTC and the Continental Flying Spur sedan share the same engineering.
Continental GT, second generation
2011 to 2018
A 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 developed with Audi, or the 6.0-liter W12. A ZF six-speed at first, then a ZF eight-speed from the 2013 model year.
Continental GT, third generation
2018 to 2024
Built on the Volkswagen Group MSB platform shared with the second-generation Porsche Panamera. W12 or V8, with an eight-speed dual-clutch gearbox.
Continental GT, fourth generation
2024 on
V8 plug-in hybrids only, with a 25.9 kWh battery. The W12 ended production in mid-2024. Call us first with one of these cars. See hybrids and EVs.
Bentayga
From December 2015
Built on the MLB Evo platform shared with the Audi Q7 and Q8, Porsche Cayenne and Lamborghini Urus. W12 to 2020, a V8 from 2018, and a 3.0-liter V6 plug-in hybrid on sale in North America from October 2019. Call us first with the year and engine.
Mulsanne
Model years 2011 to 2020
A 6.75-liter twin-turbo V8 with a ZF eight-speed automatic and rear-wheel drive. Call us first with a Mulsanne.

Oil service
The Bentley oil service, and what to tell us when you call.
The price of a Bentley oil service depends on the engine. Contact BMR Auto and we will quote your car.
- We remove the undertrays, drain the old oil, fit a new filter, refill with new oil and reset the service reminder.
- On a Continental GT, GTC or Flying Spur with air suspension, the car goes into Jack Mode before it is lifted. Without it, the self-leveling system dumps air.
What to tell us when you call
| Bentley job | What to tell us |
|---|---|
| Engine oil service | The engine and the mileage. |
| Air spring | Which corner sits low, and whether the compressor runs all the time. |
| Parking brake motor and rear caliper | Whether the warning is on and whether the brake applies and releases. |
| Front wheel bearing | At what speed the hum starts. |
| Radiator and cooling | Whether the car runs warm or loses coolant. |
| Starter and no-start | What you hear when you press the start button. |
| Pre-purchase inspection | The VIN and where the car is for sale. |

Every service

Diagnostics
Bentley factory repair information and diagnostics run through the Volkswagen Group erWin and ODIS systems. We diagnose Bentley cars with dealer-level diagnostic software and read every module before we recommend a repair.
Programming and coding
A new electronic parking brake motor has to be initialized with a diagnostic tool before it works. On newer cars, a used module from another Bentley stays locked to its first car until it is released online, which Volkswagen Group calls component protection. Ask us before you buy a used module.
Keys
Bentley key data comes through Bentley's erWin store. In September 2026 one tool maker added a way to program an added key on MLB Evo cars, the Bentayga among them, by reading a working key; the announcement does not cover a car with every key lost. Call us with the VIN and tell us how many working keys you have.
Maintenance
The oil service, brake fluid, filters, spark plugs, coils and coolant. Tell us the mileage and the last service, and we tell you what is due.
Engine and transmission
Radiators on the 2004 to 2018 Continental corrode along the bottom of the core, so the car loses coolant and runs warm. One parts specialist warns that overheating carries a risk to the head gaskets and cylinder heads of a W12. Coil packs are on the checklist for first-generation W12 cars, and oil leaks and brittle cooling hoses come with age.
Brakes and suspension
The electronic parking brake motor and the rear caliper seal tend to fail together, and a new motor on a worn caliper tends to end in a repeat failure, so the two are best replaced as a pair. Air springs leak, leaving a corner low overnight or the compressor running all the time. Worn bushes in the upper arms cause clunks, vague steering and wear on the inner edge of the tires.
Wheels and tires
A failing front wheel bearing gives a drone or hum that rises with road speed, then play and uneven tire wear. Inner-edge tire wear can point to the upper-arm bushes instead, so we check both before fitting new tires.
Air conditioning and headlights
We diagnose and repair Bentley air conditioning and heating, and headlight faults; see air conditioning and headlights. Overheating and coolant loss are covered under engine and cooling.
Batteries, hybrids and electrical
The first-generation Continental has two batteries, and both drain when the car sits. We test both, and the charging system, before anything else is blamed. The Bentayga V6 plug-in hybrid and the fourth-generation Continental GT are high-voltage cars, so call us first with one of them.
Starter and no-start
We test the batteries and charging before the starter is condemned. When the starter has failed, we replace it on the Continental GT and Flying Spur.
Collision and body
Bentley describes the body of its newer Continental GT as a mix of steel and aluminum, with aluminum exterior panels and a composite boot lid. We handle Bentley collision repairs and scan the electronics after the repair.
Pre-purchase inspection
On a first-generation W12 Continental, the PistonHeads buying guide lists all four damping settings, the coil packs, drop links and radiator, a front-left footwell water leak, the parking brake module and the brakes. We inspect the car and send you detailed photos.
Parts
Bentley shares platforms and parts families with Audi and Porsche. A used electronic module is rarely plug and play, because component protection ties it to its first car.
What goes to the dealer
When the dealer is the right place for your Bentley.
When a job belongs at the dealer, we say so on the first call, so you do not pay us to find out.
- Recall repairs, which a Bentley dealer does free. Recall 23V-034 covers 650 Continental GT and GTC cars of the 2020 model year, where liquid can get through the housing of the auxiliary coolant pump onto its circuit board and connector. Check your VIN with NHTSA.
- Repairs covered by the factory warranty.
- Keys that only Bentley can supply for your VIN.
- Module programming on late-2023 and later cars that only factory software can unlock.
In general, servicing at an independent shop does not void your warranty. A maker may not require a branded service as a condition of the warranty unless that service is free, and the FTC says a company cannot deny coverage only because you used an independent shop. It can deny a claim for damage the outside work caused. Keep the written invoice for every job.

Questions from Bentley owners
How much is a Bentley oil change at BMR Auto?
It depends on the engine, so call BMR Auto for a quote on your car. The service covers the oil, a new filter, the undertrays off and on and the service reminder reset, and a car with air suspension goes into Jack Mode before it is lifted. See oil service.
My Bentley sits low on one corner overnight. Is it an air spring?
Often it is. A leaking air spring leaves a corner low after the car has been parked, and the compressor may run all the time trying to keep up. We confirm which part has failed before anything is replaced, then quote the repair.
Why does the parking brake warning stay on?
On the Continental GT, GTC and Flying Spur, the electronic parking brake motor and the rear caliper often fail together. Signs include the warning light, a brake that will not apply or release, and grinding from the rear. A new motor has to be initialized with a diagnostic tool, and fitting it to a worn caliper tends to end in a repeat failure.
Why does my car hum louder as the speed rises?
A drone or hum that rises with road speed is the usual sign of a failing front wheel bearing. Left alone, it leads to play in the wheel and uneven tire wear.
My W12 is running warm. What should I check?
The radiator. On the 2004 to 2018 Continental it corrodes along the bottom of the core and loses coolant, and overheating puts the head gaskets and cylinder heads of a W12 at risk. Stop driving if the temperature keeps climbing, and call us.
Will servicing my Bentley at an independent shop void the warranty?
Usually not. Under federal law a maker may not require a branded service as a condition of the warranty unless that service is free, and the FTC says a company cannot deny coverage only because you used an independent shop. It can deny a claim for damage the outside work caused. Keep the written invoice for every job.
Do you work on the Bentayga and the hybrids?
Call us first with the VIN. The Bentayga shares its platform with the Porsche Cayenne and the Audi Q7, and the Bentayga Hybrid and the fourth-generation Continental GT carry a high-voltage battery, so we tell you on the call what we can take on.
Can you make a key for my Bentley?
Call us with the VIN and tell us how many working keys you have. Bentley key data comes through Bentley's own erWin store, and what can be done depends on the model and year, so we tell you on the call whether we can do it or whether the key has to come from the dealer.
Can you inspect a Bentley before I buy it?
Yes. We inspect the car and send you detailed photos. On a first-generation W12 Continental, PistonHeads' buying guide lists the damping settings, coil packs, drop links, radiator, parking brake module and a front-left footwell water leak as the things to check. See pre-purchase inspections.
